Meet Leah

Leah was raised in a Wisconsin community much like Elk River and the surrounding district. The daughter of a computer scientist and nurse, but the granddaughter of a mason, she knows the meaning of hard work and isn't afraid to laugh while getting her hands dirty.

She graduated summa cum laude from University of Wisconsin-Stout with a double major in Applied Math & Computer Science and Game Design & Development - 3D Art. This led her to work for IBM for five years, where she helped pitch, prototype, and own the solution to a business gap identified during her first months with the company. Eventually this project expanded to a true team, where Leah helped lead eight developers.

 

When IBM split off their cloud services division into a new company, Leah moved to a new role with Kyndryl. A couple years later, she stepped up into a management role for a global team of 24 employees. She has recently returned to a technical position, but continues to enjoy supporting her colleagues and building systems to solve customer problems.

During this time, Leah also became a mother herself. After two very different birthing experiences, she decided to become a certified full spectrum doula to support other individuals and families on their journey to becoming parents. She co-owns Hera Integrative Wellness, a women's wellness agency, where she offers services in fertility support, birth support, and menstrual education.

In the spare moments she has, Leah is currently prioritizing spending time with her family and reading a variety of novels. Her list of other hobbies is too long to list here, but is a testament to how much she enjoys learning and tackling new projects.
